Alex is a Germany-based film editor with over 30 years of experience in the industry. 

Trained as a graphic designer and junior editor in 1980s London, he has since gained extensive expertise across all areas of postproduction — from assisting, dubbing, and sound design to graphic design, and film, video, and digital editing across a wide range of formats.

In 1992, he founded Digital Editors Postproduktions GmbH, a pioneering company that offered comprehensive digital postproduction services. The company played a key creative role in shaping the German film industry and served as a training ground for many editors who continue to work in Germany and internationally to this day.

Beyond editing, Alex has passionately pursued producing and directing, working on commercials, documentaries, and feature films — a creative path he remains deeply enthusiastic about. 😄

Alex is also highly engaged in industry-related initiatives. He served as a board member of the German Association of Film Editors (BFS) and is the founder and former chairman of TEMPO – Federation of Film Editors Associations e.V.(tempo-filmeditors.com), an international umbrella organization representing editors worldwide.

A strong advocate for education, Alex regularly lectures at film schools, moderates and develops training programs, and actively organizes and participates in workshops and industry panels.

He is a proud member of both the European Film Academy and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and his contributions to the industry have been recognized with numerous national and international awards.
